Due to the extraordinary circumstances we are all experiencing KingKabs and Abbey Taxis would like to offer the businesses of Chester some extra help to work together.
KingKabs and Abbey Taxis are interested in implementing a joint delivery service to maintain jobs in the area and the local economy. Plus, the potential opportunity to accommodate restaurants / cafes / retailers to continue running during these difficult times.
The idea would be to offer local delivery same day. A customer could order with your store/eatery and you could offer to send the goods to them in a cab which you call when the package is ready. Payment for delivery would be required by the customer in the same way they would if they had come into the city and then called a taxi to get themselves and their goods home! On this occasion though, the goods would be travelling alone!
For example, a restaurant could take an online order from a customer and take the full payment for the goods only – on card. Then when they know it will be ready, call it in to us at the booking office on the usual number and advise that this is a delivery job and where the drop off address is.
The idea would also include cross-advertising and promoting the service amongst each other. For example, those on board could publicise their involvement with us, and in turn we would add them to our website as a venue we deliver goods from.
We will provide a fixed rate to areas for drivers to charge cash/card on delivery. Example, one price for City Road restaurants to anywhere in Vicars Cross.
