Enhancement

ENHANCING

Chester BID’s Enhancing function aims to create a city that is safe, attractive and welcoming for people who shop, visit and live in Chester.

“I’m John, a member of the BID Board and lead on the Enhancing Group. In this role I support the BID team and help them make well informed decisions. This group provides strategic guidance, support and oversight of BID initiatives as well as operational and creative input. We work with BID to create and maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for shoppers”

John Welsh, Chester BID Enhancing Group Lead

chester bid maintenance operatives

Our Bid Maintenance Operatives (BMOs) work on ensuring Chester City Centre is always looking its best. Carrying out daily cleaning and maintenance work over and above that provided by the council focusing on private land and property.

Chester BID take pride in providing an outstanding environment for visitors, residents and businesses alike.

city host

Our City host Monica is the public face of Chester BID. Not only does Monica provide a personal Chester welcome to thousands of visitors, she also logs dozen of environmental and anti social behaviour incidents each year.

Whether you’re a visitor or a business within the city centre, you most certainly have spotted Monica – if you ever need a bit of guidance or help, just keep a look out for the orange hat!

city improvements

We work hard to ensure the city is maintained as well as improved. City improvements include the likes of flower planting across the city, bike rack and bollard painting, inserting up to date information maps, turning BT Boxes into Mini Murals, fitting defibrillators across the city, addressing empty units and more.

help end homelessness

A collaborative project between Chester BID, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Chester Aid to the homeless, Share, Soul Kitchen and The Bluecoat Charity.

As a founding partner of the project, Chester BID is responsible for managing the contactless donation points across the city.
