CHESTER’S BEST DRESSED COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED

It’s a sold-out Ladies Day at Chester Racecourse this Boodles May Festival, Georgia Toffolo makes her reporting debut and the Best Dressed winners are crowned.

Ladies Day is most certainly one of the most prominent days at the Boodles May Festival, offering style both on and off the track. A successful pre-sale window meant that all hospitality areas and many areas across general admission were sold out in advance of the festival date.

As well as it being a sell-out day, Georgia Toffolo, who was recently named as Ambassador for Great British Racing, made her reporting debut. Going behind the scenes both on and off the track, Toffolo interviewed fashion-savvy racegoers who were all eager to stand out throughout the day and at the Best Dressed Competition.

In association with McArthur Glen Cheshire Oaks, the Best Dressed Competition is one of the main events of the day, excluding the racing! Some fabulous prizes were on offer, offering a collective value of almost £1,500.

The competition was judged by Joanne Forshaw, Marketing Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks and Influencer Rosie Butcher, who had the tough task of crowning the Best Dressed winners from hundreds of fashionable racegoers.

Forshaw comments: “As Official Style Partner for the second consecutive year, we were really excited to be judging the Ladies Day Best Dressed competition once again. The women (and men) of Chester know their style and this year we were looking for individuals who added a touch of personality to the season’s key trends. The competition was really stiff this year, but we have chosen two winners who incorporate everything we were looking for.”

Emily Corbett was crowned Best Dressed Lady wearing a polka dot dress by Pretty Little Thing, Black trench coat by New Look and shoes by Boohoo.

First time racegoer and Chester visitor, Francis Karran, was crowned Best Dressed Gentleman wearing a suit from Duchamp London and shoes from Jeffery-West.

Rosie comments: “Emily’s polka dot dress immediately stood out to me. I thought it was a really classic, gorgeous, individual look – very Audrey Hepburn! I loved Francis’ clashing tie and shirt – I thought it was amazing and he had made so much effort. I have been coming to Chester races for a few years now and always have such a good time. Everyone makes such an effort and for me, I love the fashion and looking at what people are wearing.”

Winning female, Emily, said:”Despite the typically British weather, I have had a fantastic day. I have only been to the races a couple of times before, but I love the atmosphere and it was truly special to win today.”

Winning gentleman, Frances, comments: “This is actually my first time at Chester Races, I am visiting from the Isle of Man.  I have absolutely loved every minute of it and being crowned the best dressed male has just topped off the day!”

The racing season continues at Chester Racecourse tomorrow with the final day of the Boodles May Festival, SportPesa Chester Cup Day. A limited number of tickets remain and can be bought online. For more information and to buy, visit: https://www.chester-races.com
