POETRY FOR PEACE WITH IMTIAZ DHARKER

Book Now
A person wearing a black coat over a purple top, standing in front of bookshelves filled with various books.

An evening of poetry on the theme of peace under Peter Walker’s stunning Peace Doves installation in the Cathedral’s South Transept. With award-winning guest poet, Imtiaz Dharker, and contributions from local poets who have taken part in recent workshops.

Jackie Kay, The Guardian
Imtiaz Dharker’s poetry shines a light in the dark. She is interested in how things work, in art, in history, in politics… You cannot hear her perform without being somehow transformed by the experience. Witty, wise, profound and moving, her work crosses continents.

This event is linked to the Peace Doves art installation in Chester Cathedral from 17 May to 1 June, when thousands of paper doves will be suspended in the South Transept.
