Chester hits the big screen!

Chester hits the big screen!

A TV advert showcasing the very best of Chester will be aired across the UK this summer to promote the city as a short break destination.

The CH1ChesterBID team has played a key role in supporting the national campaign, which is being led by Marketing Cheshire and will include radio commercials and a new website called visitchester.com.

The likes of Chester Zoo, Chester Cathedral, Chester Race Company and the Grosvenor Shopping Centre are also backing the initiative alongside Cheshire West and Chester Council (CwaC), the Chester and Cheshire Hospitality Association and all the city’s major hotels.

Paul Daniels, Chairman of CH1ChesterBID, said: “This is a significant and positive marketing campaign for the city and will be the first time Chester has been advertised on national television. It’s fantastic news for the city and we’re fully behind campaigns such as this that will help drive more footfall into our city centre and encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more.”

The TV commercial portrays a “fresh, contemporary, classical image” of Chester and includes iconic Chester landmarks such as the Eastgate Clock, Chester Cathedral and Chester Racecourse, as well as footage from The Chester Grosvenor Hotel and the Grosvenor Shopping Centre.
